U.S.M.C. AH-1W Cobra
The Atlantic Ocean, 09 March 2003 —
An AH-1W Cobra helicopter assigned to the “Black Knights” of Helicopter Medium Squadron Two Six Four (HMM-264) waits to take off from the flight deck of USS Iwo Jima
(LHD 7), while another is poised to land aboard the Navy’s newest multi-purpose amphibious assault ship. HMM-264 and the crew aboard the Iwo Jima are headed east on their maiden deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
