Egypt, 15 October 2005 — An AH-1 Cobra helicopter from Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 13 (reinforced), attached to the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, flies over a viewing stand in support of Exercise Bright Star. The exercise is designed to enhance the interoperability and cohesiveness of coalition forces through various training scenarios, to include amphibious and combined-arms operations. The six-week exercise affords U.S. service members the opportunity to build awareness and relationships with the host nation of Egypt and fellow coalition forces. The 13th MEU is currently on a Western Pacific deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism.
