USS Nimitz (CVN 68)

Persian Gulf, 29 July 2005 — The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) underway in the Persian Gulf conducting routine operations. The Nimitz Strike Group is currently on a regularly scheduled deployment and is participating in Maritime Security Operations (MSO). MSO set the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment as well as complement the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations.
