USS Kearsarge (LHD 3)

The Arabian Gulf, 30 March 2003) — The amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) conducting combat missions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The deck is loaded with CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters assigned to the “Condors” of Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron (HMH 464). Operation Iraqi Freedom is the multinational coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
