USNS Pecos (T-AO 197)

At sea aboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63), 17 February 2003 — The Military Sealift Command ship USNS Pecos (T-AO 197) approaches USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) during an underway replenishment (UNREP). The Kitty Hawk and embarked Carrier Air Wing Five (CVW-5) were recently ordered to the Arabian Gulf to join coalition forces for operations in that area. Kitty Hawk is the world’s only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier and operates out of Yokosuka, Japan.
