Edwards Air Force Base, California, USA, 18 September 2000 — The Air Force's newest aircraft, the CV-22, landed at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., Monday to undergo two years of flight testing. First, the aircraft's electronic warfare suite will be tested in the Benefield Anechoic Facility. Other features of the CV-22, which will be used by the Air Force Special Operations Command, that will be tested include a multi-mode radar used for terrain following and terrain avoidance; radar jamming and integrated radio frequency capabilities and special auxiliary fuel tanks.
