U.S. Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion
Halifax, Nova Scotia, 23 June 1998 —
A CH-53 Super Stallion helicopter lands on the deck of the USS Nassau off the coast of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The CH-53 was operating in support of Unified Spirit '98, a maritime combined operational training exercise. The exercise includes forces from Canada, Denmark, the United Kingdom, France, the United States, and other NATO nations. It provides effective, realistic training to improve the skills needed during a NATO led peacekeeping support operation.
