This chapter provides examples of cargo and transport aircraft. Many of these aircraft have very similar recognition features because they were all designed to perform similar, specific missions such as operating from short, unimproved runways, roads, or fields. Modern cargo and transport aircraft are manufactured with high-mounted straight wings which allow greater lift and better control at low speeds and altitudes.
For each aircraft, there are line drawings, general data, WEFT descriptions, user countries, photographs, and aircraft manufacturer information. Line drawings are not to scale. The following illustration shows cargo and transport aircraft WEFT description features.
